How
to get to the conference
Map of the center of Lille
1. Address of the conference
Laboratoire Painlevé - UMR 8524 CNRS
Mathematics, building M2
University of Lille 1 (USTL)
59655 Villeneuve d'Ascq Cedex - France
Phone: (+33) 3 20 43 48 50 - Fax: (+33) 3 20 43 43 02
2. Location and schedule of the talks
All the talks will be given in building M2, second floor,
"salle de réunions". They will start on Thursday 16 about 14:00 and they
will end on Friday 17 about 17:00.
3. Lunch
All the participants will be granted access to the "Restaurant Universitaire Barrois".
Tickets can be bought at the entrance of the restaurant, located in front of the subway station "Cité Scientifique". The price of a ticket is 6.3 Euros ("tarif passager"). Notice that it is also
possible to find fairly good sandwiches on the campus (at the "Café
Culturel" near the subway station "Cité Scientifique" ).
1. Travelling to Lille
1.1. From Paris-Orly Airport to Paris-Gare du Nord (<90mn)
Take the subway "Orlyval", get off at Antony. Then take
the metro RER-Line B to Gare du Nord (alternative solution: take a bus
"Orlybus" to Paris, get off at "Denfert-Rochereau" in Paris and then take
the metro RER-Line B to Gare du Nord).
1.2. From Roissy-Charles de Gaulle airport to Paris-Gare
du Nord (<45mn)
Take the metro RER-Line B to Gare du Nord.
1.3. From Paris-Gare du Nord to Lille (1h)
Take a train Paris-Lille. There are two stations in Lille:
Gare Lille-Flandres and Gare Lille-Europe. Both are convenient. Almost
all trains are TGV's (Très Grande Vitesse): they will take you to
Lille in one hour. TGV's run every hour or so. The fare ranges from 30
Euros to 50 Euros.
.
1.4. From Roissy-Charles de Gaulle airport directly to
Lille (50mn)
There is also a TGV line going directly from Roissy airport
to Lille. This is shorter and easier, but there are much fewer trains than
from Paris-Gare du Nord.
1.5. From Brussels to Lille (<1h30)
There are regular shuttles from the airport to the central
railway station. Then take a train to Lille.
1.6. From Lille-Lesquin airport to Lille downtown (<15mn)
There are regular shuttles to the center of Lille.
2. From Lille downtown to the Mathematics Department in Villeneuve d'Ascq (<30mn)
In order to come to the University from the center of
Lille, a good solution is to take the subway VAL. Metros operate every
day from 5:00 AM to 12:00 PM. They run every 3 or 4 mn. There are two subway
lines:
Ligne 1: CHR B CALMETTE. ---> 4 CANTONS
Ligne 2: St PHILIBERT ---> FORT DE MONS
Take line 1 in the direction of "4 Cantons", for instance
at "Gare Lille-Flandres" station -- remark: if you are in "Gare Lille-Europe" instead,
it is possible to use line 2 to go to Lille-Flandres and then catch line
1, but in this case the simplest solution is rather to walk to Lille-Flandres
(at about 250 m).
Get off at "Cité Scientifique" (at the southeast
of the map) -- about 15 mn later.
There is then a 5mn walk from the station "Cité
Scientifique" to the Math. Department ("Bâtiment M2"). Look at the
campus map:
You will arrive from the north. When you get out of the station (in black on the map), follow the subway line, pass the central library (a circular building) on your left, keep going southwest up to seeing on your right the building M1 (a red square at the center of the map, and in fact a large grey building with a high FM radio antenna). Behind it, you will find the building M2, where the department of mathematics and its library are located.
3. Travelling to Villeneuve d'Ascq with a car
3.1. From Brussels : before arriving in Lille, follow the
direction "Gand, Tourcoing, Villeneuve d'Ascq" and choose the exit 2 "Cité
Scientifique, Métro 4 Cantons".
3.2. From Paris : before arriving in Lille, follow the
direction "Gand Brussels, Villeneuve d'Ascq" and choose the exit 2 "Cysoing, Cité
Scientifique, Métro 4 Cantons".
