The idea of this workshop started from the suggestion from some members of the geometry and dynamics group of going through the notes of a course that Aaron Brown held in Montevideo about a year ago on the recent advances on Zimmer's program. The arrival of Federico Rodriguez Hertz, as a year long visitor, permitted us to to widen somewhat the scope of this reading group by profiting of his expertise on subject. We drafted a tentative programme for this semester that is detailed here. Your are welcome to pick up and present a topic of your choice and to make suggestion about related topics.
