Monday, June 25th - Friday, June 29th 2001

to be held at

the university Lille I (France)

A kind of Ulam drawing Pour les francais...

This conference has been devoted to multiplicative number theory, with a particular stress on prime numbers.

Regularity or irregularity of distribution, the latest progress in the use of bilinear forms, the study of the Riemann zeta function and of its companions, sieve techniques, and additive problems over primes. Among which lie exponential and character sums ...

Five continents gathered at Lille
To arithmetic's ancient appeal.
As every session
Saw primes and progression
We all of us learned a great deal.
                                                                Martin Huxley

Anyone can attend this conference, in particular students and post-docs in this area. We would however prefer people to register, which is most easily done by sending an email to one of the organisors H. Daboussi and O. Ramaré. This is simply so that we can evaluate the size of the room required. If you wish to give a lecture to this meeting, please contact one of the organisors, and this is also the advice given to anyone asking for financial support.
