We discuss how BV operators arise naturally in the theory of odd generalized operads. These exist on the topological, chain and homology (Iinear) level. We will discuss the general setup as well as examples. On the topological level the natural underlying geometry is that of real blow ups. This is joint work with Ben Ward and Javier Zuniga.
