VHSMOD-2009

Grant N° ANR-09-BLAN-0104-01

Année universitaire 2010-2011

Description: Applications are invited for a postdoctoral fellowship position for the 2010/2011 academic year with financial support from the French National Research Agency (ANR) in connection with the research project Holomorphically symplectic manifolds, their moduli spaces and automorphic forms. This project is aimed at both geometric and arithmetic questions on holomorphically symplectic varieties their moduli and the corresponding automorphic forms. The main directions of research are:

1. Moduli of polarized symplectic manifolds.

2. Theta-quarks, theta-blocks, Siegel modular forms and their applications to geometry and physics.

3. Lagrangian fibrations.

4. Irreducible Symplectic Varieties.

5. Homological projective duality and noncommutative Calabi-Yau's.

The successful applicant will join the team of the University of Lille 1 and will participate in the activities related to this program, working in collaboration with V. Gritsenko and D. Markushevich. No teaching duties are associated with this position. For more information on the Arithmetic and Algebraic Geometry group of the University of Lille 1, see the web page http://math.univ-lille1.fr/equipe/index.php?id=3&menu=Pr%E9sentation (in French).

Eligibility: The candidates should have completed their Ph. D. degree in a related area of mathematics (algebraic or arithmetic geometry, automorphic forms) in a Mathematics Department, different from that of the University of Lille 1, and before the starting date of the contract.

Term of the contract: fixed term of 12 months, ideally starting on October 1, 2010.

Salary: € 2117 monthly (or €1720 after social withholdings).

* curriculum vitae,

* list of publications,

* research report and research project (max 4 pages),

* coordinates of 2 academic referees.

Applicants should also ask their referees to directly send their recommendation letter by email to the same address, with subject "recommendation letter for <applicant name>".
