We discuss close-form expressions for the numerator and denominator of $[n-1|n]$ and $[n|n]$ Padé approximants for the classical continued fraction of Gau{\ss}. Several limiting cases are studied like ratios of confluent hypergeometric functions, Bessel functions and trigonometric functions.
